The thrills of killing enemies with single stokes, coupled with Playstation® Portable’s (PSP®) convenience, can now be enjoyed anywhere by the player with his favorite character. This time, in the story mode, the main characters of past works in the series will be making their appearances. The five playable characters are the familiar Rikimaru and Ayame; Tenchu Kurenai’s Rin; senior Tatsumaru; and assassin Tesshu. With the use of different characters, the plot developments will differ.
This time the game newly adds in the components of cooperative play and versus play modes. With the use of the USB port or Ad Hoc mode, two people can play the game at the same time. There is the cooperative mode in which both players work together to complete a mission, and there is also the versus mode for players to pit against one another. In versus mode, all the useable characters can be chosen. The player can experience fun that is different than that derived from the story mode.
The game features a "mission create mode". Create your very own original missions, including detailed settings such as character settings, plot hints, dialogues, and even terrain changes and positioning of the enemies. The original missions created can be traded or passed on to friends.

Every girl believes in legends. Kirameki High School has one too. The game starts with a prologue saying "if a girl tells a boy she loves him under the large old tree standing on the fringe of the school grounds on graduation day, and the boy accepts her love, they will be happy ever after...." I will too, some day....
The player plays as the main character, and goes to Tokimeki High School for 3 years interacting with many characters such as Shiori Fujisaki, a childhood friend. The player develops the main character by performing various commands.
The goal is to receive a love confession under the legendary tree standing on the edge of the school grounds on graduation day. All appearing characters are well characterized and speak all lines. This was the attention getter back then. After that, it was developed for many other game platforms. In addition, many other games such as drama, puzzle, and quiz games showcased the popular characters.

You as the player have to use the analog pad to maneuver the Mercury globs to the designated targets in irregular maze-like stages. That is all there is to the game, no complicated operation at all, but damn, it is addictive! You also have to make use of Mercury's liquid-like characteristics to disperse or join and even change shape to overcome the increasingly difficult stages!
